| [6 July 2008] Two bottom teeth!!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [12 May 2008] Ella has started to eat "big people food" Betsy and I tried giving her some tasty rice cereal on a spoon and she scarfed it down. She has been paying attention when we eat, and has been practicing with a spoon for a little while. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [15 April 2008] We just had Ella's eyes checked out by Dr Burke - made us look like hell when it comes to entertaining Ella... and all is okie dokie with her eyes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [13 April 2008] Not too much activity on here on the website the last month, but a lot has actually happened! We went to our 4 month appointment early because we noticed that one of Ella's pupils is quite a lot larger than the other, especially in low light. She is in the 75th percentile for height, is 13lbs 9ozs heavy, 24.75 inches long and she is at 25th percentile for head size. (Pinhead)
She has very good neck control, is babbling when you talk to her... and is learning the last few days to go to sleep by herself... lots of crying, sniffeling etc. The result of which is that she looks great all round, but we will be going to an ophthalmologist on Tuesday to check out the pupil - we'll post results then! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [8 March 2008] Well, it hasn't happened again, so it looks like we are a little while away from the fabled 'sleeping through the night'. We're getting snow - and a lot of it - here right now and everything looks fluffy and white. Were going to get around 11 inches in total - almost a foot of snow! Pity Ella isn't old enough to do sledding. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [19 February 2008] Two nights of 6 hour sleeps.... This entry will either prove that you *can* jinx something, or that we are heading out of the crazy stay-awake-all-the-time phase... we'll see how often we go more than 4 hrs in the next week or so. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [17 February 2008] Ella has been focusing on objects and our faces for about a week. We get big smiles from here in the early morning when she sees our faces.Her hands are not clenched all the time like they used to be and she is eating like a horse!!
I should mention that it has not escaped my attention that these posts are short and lacking in detail. I'm sure I could make more time to add more, but my brain just is not functioning like it used to before the sleep mess.. Who would have thought? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [2 February 2008] We went for our first walk today. Pretty uneventful, except for the major bounciness of the stroller on the sidewalks... not that Ella seemed to mind. Mom and Dad were very very happy to be outside and not cooped up in the cabin! Yaaay! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [31 January 2008] Ella is now 8lbs 14oz - gained 10oz in 8 days! Which is above the growth curve - which is all good :-) She was in the 25th percentile for head size and weight, and in the 75th percentile for length... The term "growth spurt" seems a little silly now. It seems to be a permanent thing. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [20 January 2008] A Baby swing from Ben and Kristin seems to be starting to work. Its one of the batter powered automatic swing chairs and last time Ella went for a spin, she was *not* impressed. This time she seems far happier and with a little luck (have you noticed how much luck I am attributing to everything) she'll be a happy camper. Doh! That was short-lived. Let the screaming begin! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [13 January 2008] Ella has hit a growth spurt. It turns out she has a more fussy baby than normal and may even have a touch of GERD to make things a little worse. Lots of staying up with her... We're looking forward to the first six weeks or so being behind us :-) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| [10 January 2008] Ella's belly button has revealed itself! Her cord dropped off today and so far it looks like we have a little "outie"... time will confirm. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| [7 January 2008] Today is Ella's original due date! She was a little cranky last night and difficult to get down. It seems our new sling is the answer though... a lot easier than holding her all night and generally she becomes more relaxed in it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

[24 December 2007] We went for our first visit to the pediatrician and everything checks out 100% ok. Hearing, eyesight, palette, hips, weight etc are all in good shape. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

[11:04am EST, Wednesday 12/19/2007] Ella Davis Laurenson has arrived! She weighs 6lbs 14ozs and is 19inchs long. 18 Dec 9:15pm. Betsys water may have just broken. 10:30p We are at the hospital getting checked out 2:25am Contractions lasting 50 seconds about 3 mins apart. betsy is hanging in there 5:50am 6cm dialated and just got the epidural. betsy is doing great now... 6:50am 10cm.. Theyre calling the doctor.. We should be meeting our new arrival very soon 8:30 we,re PUSHING.... 11:04am Betsy just gave birth to Ella Davis Laurenson.. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

[Betsy/Jeremy: 7ish November 2007] Work has begun on the kitchen remodel... see pics to the right. Weve had to have the kitchen gutted down to the wooden studs to remove old wiring.. leaving a lot of dust in its wake. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
